U.P: Four children drown in village pond in Azamgarh

Azamgarh (UP), April 10 (UNI) Four children drowned while taking bath in a village pond in Didarganj area of Azamgarh district here in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, a police officer said here.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Chirag Jain said that Yash (10), Ansh (7), Raj Kumar (5) and Samar (9), all residents of Kushal village, had gone to take bath in village pond in the afternoon and drowned. "Some villagers who went to graze the animals saw the clothes of the children and launched a search operation," they said.
He said that the children were taken out of the pond with the help of the local residents and taken to Jaunpur hospital where doctors declared them dead.
