Three children drown in village pond in Hamirpur

Hamirpur (UP), April 1 (UNI) Three children drowned while taking a bath in a village pond in the Bewar area of Hamirpur district in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, a police officer said.
Circle Officer (CO) Shreyas Tripathi said Mohit Verma (12), Vicky Shrivas (12), and Deepanshu Verma (13), all residents of Kunheta, went to take a bath in the pond outside the village without informing the family members. "When the children did not return after several hours their family members launched the hunt," he said.
He said during the search the family members found the clothes of the three children alongside the pond. "After this, the police were informed. Police with the help of the villagers took the children out of the pond. They were taken to the Community Health Centre where doctors declared them dead," he said.
