Shahjahanpur (UP), Mar 5 (UNI) Three people were killed and four others injured when a car collided with a truck in the Kalan area of Shahjahanpur district in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Meena said that some residents of Abdullah Nagar had gone to attend a marriage in Madnapur.
"Around 2.10 am while they were returning home, their car collided with the speeding truck near Narsuiya village," he said.
He said that the police immediately reached the spot and admitted the injured to the hospital, where doctors declared Ramdeen (65), Neta (40), and Rajneesh (27) dead.
"Four persons who sustained serious injuries were referred to the government hospital in Farrukhabad," he said.
The SP said that the truck driver escaped from the spot, leaving his vehicle behind. "The truck has been impounded, and the bodies are being examined for postmortem," he said.
