2 women among 5 killed in Punjab accident

Faridkot (Punjab), April 5 (UNI) Five people, including two women, were killed, while eight others were seriously injured in a collision between a truck and a trailer early Friday near Panjgrain Khurd village of Kotakpura.
According to the police, the injured were admitted to Kotakpura and Faridkot hospitals. Most of the victims were from Marad Kalan village in Muktsar, who were returning after paying obeisance at a religious place at Nigaha village in Bagha Purana.
The bodies were sent to Civil hospital for autopsy and a case was registered, the police said.

Ex-gratia for family members if polling personnel die on duty

Chandigarh, May 2 (UNI) Ex-gratia financial assistance will be provided to the families of polling or security personnel in case of death or permanent disability while on election duty. Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal said on Thursday.
"In the unfortunate events of violent incidents, bomb blasts, terrorist attacks, or shootings leading
to the death of personnel, the family will receive Rs 30 lakh.
