JMM to contest West Bengal Assembly elections with full strength, says Hemant

JMM to contest West Bengal Assembly elections with full strength, says Hemant

Dumka, Dec 20 (UNI) The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has decided to contest the Assembly Elections in the neighbouring West Bengal scheduled to be held next year with full strength.
Acting president of JMM and Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday said his party will not only field candidates but contest the polls with full strength.
He said that a team of party leaders is currently in West Bengal and visiting several areas and submit a report on return, based on which the future strategy for the elections will be worked out.
He said the party will fight the elections on the idea of Vrihat Jharkhand, which includes some of the bordering districts of West Bengal and Odisha. Before the formation of Jharkhand, JMM had been vocal about it and in the Bengal polls, the party will make it a big issue, he added.
Talking to the media at his Khijuria residence before leaving for Tarapeeth in West Bengal, he said JMM is serious about the West Bengal assembly elections.
Asked about the number of seats the party wants to contest in the polls, he said the decision on the number of seats will be taken after analysing the report.
Talks of coalition were not going on right now but the party may hold talks with like minded outfits, he addded.
The Chief Minister did not comment over a complaint filed by a model in Mumbai over which BJP leader Babulal Marandi has sought his resignation.
Soren, earlier, listened to the problems of the people and directed the officials present to take the necessary steps to resolve them.
