Flood waters receding in Assam

Guwahati, Jul 28 (UNI) Flood waters have started receding from many parts of Assam as the number of affected population went down below 20 lakh, though the death toll in the floods continued to increase.
One casualty was reported since last evening, taking the total lives claimed in floods this year so far to 104, Assam State Disaster Management Authority informed in its bulletin.
The number of affected districts stood at 21, in which 60 revenue circles and 1,771 villages and localities remained affected.
