Muslim Youth League activists pickets main entrance of Kozhikode Collectorate

Kozhikode, Jun 4 (UNI) In a clear and open violation of lockdown protocol including norms on maintaining social distancing, activists of the Muslim Youth League, the youth wing of the Indian Union Muslim League, picketed the main entrance of the Collectorate here and also blocked the way of Excise Minister T K Ramakrishnan on Thursday.
Police sources said cases for violation of lockdown norms besides blocking the Minister has been registered against 20 Youth League workers.
The Youth League activists blocked the car of Excise Minister who was heading to the Collectorate to attend a meeting.
They staged a sit-in dharna 'Niyamalangana Samaram' in front of the main gate to protest against the alleged illegal deeds of the state government.
Though the police team guided the Minister's car to the second gate, few among the agitating league cadres rushed there and prevented the car from entering through the second gate.
Following this, police resorted to lathicharge to disburse the agitators and facilitated way forward for the Minister.
Later, all the League cadres were arrested and removed by the police.
