Niwari, MP, Oct 23 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Union minister Uma Bharati alleged on Saturday that Madhya Pradesh was devastated in the pre-2003 period during the tenure of the then Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh.
Ms Bharati addressed rallies in support of BJP candidate Shishupal Yadav at Gailwara village and Mastapur in Prithvipur assembly constituency where a by-election is underway.
“An atmosphere of terror prevailed during Congress rule and people were murdered in broad daylight. Bundelkhand’s people go to Delhi for working as labourers. I desire development for the region with a vision of Ramrajya. Our seniors provided me the opportunity for leadership but people wondered how this daughter would win the 2003 election. With your blessings, we made Mr Singh bite the dust. Under the BJP government, a ‘Ganges’ of development is flowing in the state and every section – including the poor, farmers, women, youth and the aged – is being given its rights. The needy are getting permanent homes. The state and rest of the country are in a satisfying situation,” she said.
