Minors drown in pits filled with rain-water in UP

Ballia, Jul 16 (UNI) Two minors drowned in pits filled with rain-water in separate incidents in this district of Uttar Pradesh, police sources said on Tuesday.
According to sources here, Chanda (14), a resident of Pandah village of the Sikandarpur area, was returning to her home on a cycle after school on Monday.
While on her way back, she lost control over the cycle which then fell into a pit filled with water. Local people rescued Chanda from the pit and rushed her to a hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.
