Mehbooba stakes claim to form govt in J&K with Cong-NC support

Srinagar, Nov 21 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that she has staked claim to form government in the state with support from the Congress and National Conference (NC).
But, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (PC) leader Sajjad Lone has also reportedly staked claim to form government with BJP's support.
Taking to micro-blogging site twitter, Ms Mehbooba tweeted a letter that she has been trying to send to Governor Satya Pal Malik, which asserts that since she is in Srinagar currently, she will soon be meeting him to stake the claim for forming the government in the state.
“As you are aware that Peoples Democratic Party is the largest party in the State assembly having a strength of 29. You might have gathered from the media reports that the Congress and National Conference has a strength of 15 and the Congress 12. That takes over collective strength to 56,” the letter said.
“Since I am presently in Srinagar, it would be not possible for me to call on you immediately and this is to keep you informed that we would be seeking your convenience shortly to stake the claim for forming the government in the state,” it added.
