Man held in an ATM withdrawal case

Hamirpur (HP), May 29 (UNI) A police spokesman said here on Friday that the Bhoranj police have arrested one Nikhil Thakur, 28 years of Makker village of the district last night for allegedly defrauding a woman by withdrawing money from her account by changing her ATM card.
He said here tonight that following a complaint by one Veena Kumari of Kathyanvi village of the district that on May 19th some unknown person exchanged her ATM card and made a withdrawal of eleven thousand rupees from her account an investigation was started and Nikhil Kumar was taken into custody..
She filed a complaint with the Bhoranj police and accordingly the police started investigations and arrested Nikhil Thakur in this connection.
The Police had registered a case under sections 406 and 420 of Indian Penal code vide FIR Number 125/20 dated May 28th.
The spokesman said that a local judicial magistrate today remanded Nikhil to the police remand till June 1st.
Further investigation into the case was on, the police spokesman added.
