Lockdown to be intensified in Srinagar, appeal those hiding travel history to come forward: DC

Srinagar, Apr 9 (UNI) Asserting that the ongoing lockdown would be intensified from Friday in view of upward spiral of Coronavirus cases, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Thursday appealed people, hiding their travel history, to come forward voluntarily to get tested for the infection.

Dr Choudhary said that some 800 people, who didn’t disclose their travel history, were traced by a robust contact tracing mechanism. “Had they come forward earlier, perhaps the situation would not have been same at we are in today. We have to understand that each positive case entails a contact list of around 150 people and we have to trace all of them,” the Srinagar DC -- who was flanked by SSP, Srinagar, Dr Haseeb Mughal during a press conference here on Thursday – told reporters.
