Srinagar, Dec 13 (UNI) Life is limping back to normal in the Kashmir valley, where pre paid mobile and internet service of all Cellular companies, including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) remained suspended after the abrogation of Article 370.
However, due to snowfall very less number of vehicles were on the roads and shops and business establishments are open on Friday.
Meanwhile, though there was no restriction in any part of the valley, including Srinagar, the Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMF) remained deployed at sensitive places, including civil lines and down town despite sub zero temperature since morning to maintain law and order.
People, particularly professionals, students, media persons, doctors and traders continued to suffer due to suspension of the internet service, including broadband, since August 5. However, the divisional and district administration has set up facilitation centre for students and traders.
Meanwhile, dozens of leaders of different political parties, including three former Chief Ministers Dr Farooq Abdullah, his son Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti besides former ministers and legislators remained under detention since August 5.
Hundreds of leaders and workers besides stone pelters also remained detained in Srinagar, Jammu and outside jails.
Less number of shops and business establishments were open in the civil lines, including historic Lal Chowk, downtown and uptown besides outskirts this morning due to snowfall. Passenger and private transport was also affected due to snowfall.
Similar reports of normal activities were also received from other parts of the Kashmir valley.
People were observing spontaneous total strike against scrapping of special status of the state since August 5 for about three months. However, shops and business establishments later started functioning for four to five hours in the morning for the past one month.
