KLF in Kozhikode from Feb 8

Kozhikode, Feb 6 (UNI) The three-day third edition of Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) will get underway in Kozhikode Beach from February 8, its Director K Sachidanandan said here on Tuesday.
More than 450 writers and thinkers from India and from countries including Austria, Germany, Latvia, Russia, Spain, France, Sri Lanka, and Ireland will participate in over 250 brainstorming sessions spread over four days in five venues.
The central theme will be ‘dissent’ ‘No Democracy without Dissent’ for the KLF, Mr Sachidanandan said.
The KLF this year will showcase Irish literature. “Seven writers, including Gabriel Rosenstock , Conor Kostick, ,Liam Carson, and Paddy Bush, will participate in the event.
Intellectuals and activists across India with the likes of Romila Thapar, Arundhati Roy, Ashis Nandy, Vandana Shiva, Teesta Setalvad, Rishi Kapoor, Kancha llaiah,Shabnam Hashmi,Aseem Trivedi, Kanhayya Kumar, Rajdeep Sardesai, BRP Bhaskar, M. Mukundan, Sethu, K R Meera, Benyamin, and whole group of young writers altogether 500 participants will take part, he added.

We also have a special venue for a parellel, theme based film festival curated by bina paul where films will be screened and discuss about the cultural programmes. Every day flamenco dance, qawwali, and ghazal, and an ethnic food festival featuring the rich culinary heritage of Kozhikode will be organized..

The festival will get under way with an Ashtapadi by Njeralathu Harigovindan.
