Kerala to cover 50 lakh people under Constitutional Literacy programme

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 7 (UNI) For the first time in the country, the stage is set for the roll-out of the ambitious Constitutional Literacy Programme, aiming to cover 50 lakh people in Kerala.
The State Literacy Mission which conducts the programme has brought out a "handbook" containing basic Constitutional principles, which will be used by over one lakh resource persons - including 70,000 equivalency course learners - to impart classes to the public in the coming days.
Kerala Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan on Thursday released the constitution literacy bookn at a function, prepared by the Kerala State Literacy Mission Authority as part of its constitution literacy programme by handing it over to Minister for Education C. Ravindranath.
