Hamirpur (HP), Jan 26(UNI) Kartar Singh Saunkhla, 62 years old and a retired senior pharmacist of the Ratera village of the district, has been chosen for the Padama Shri award.He is known for making miniature from Bamboo sticks and then putting them into glass bottles.
Mr Saunkhla has made bamboo miniatures of former President Dr Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanak Devji Maharaj.Since his parents were working as carpenters’, he used to learn something from them and that thing helped him to become an artist of difference, he said.
He has received many national level and local awards for his outstanding contribution and this contribution has made him famous all over the World.
