Karnataka drenched !

Bengaluru, Sep 20 (UNI) The southern state of Karnataka witnessed heavy rainfall on Sunday causing floods in many low-lying areas of Udupi district and resulting in widespread damage of crops and property while one person lost his life.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa directed officials from Udupi and Bengaluru Urban district to take measures to prevent any untoward incidents.
The Chief Minister's Office in a statement said that Mr Yediyurappa spoke to BBMP administrator over phone and instructed the officer to prevent flooding along water drains of the city. All officials should be available round the clock as rainfall is forecast to continue in the city, the CM said.
