Kamal Nath to take oath on Monday as MP CM

Bhopal, Dec 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister-designate Kamal Nath will be sworn in at 1330 hrs on Monday at the state capital’s historic Lal Parade Ground in the presence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, her Samajwadi Party (SP) counterpart Akhilesh Yadav, numerous Congress stalwarts, eminent industrialists and other dignitaries.
More than a dozen ministers-to-be are also expected to take the oaths of office and secrecy on that day. The Council, whose maximum strength cannot exceed 35 as the number of elected legislators is 230, may include MLAs of the BSP and the SP besides independents. In the recently-concluded 15th Assembly elections, the Congress emerged victorious in 114 constituencies and the Bharatiya Janata Party in 109. The Congress is being supported by two BSP, one SP and four independent MLAs. Madhya Pradesh is seeing a Congress dispensation after an interval of one-and-a-half decades.
