Jailed MLA gets breather from MPHC

Jabalpur, MP, Nov 13 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday stayed a year-long sentence awarded to Babu Jandel – a ruling Congress legislator representing Sheopur – and granted bail.
Justice BK Shrivastava heard the related revision petition.

On October 30, the special court formed for adjudicating cases pertaining to lawmakers upheld a judicial magistrate’s conviction – on July 15, 2015 – of the politician and 13 others all of whom were also slapped fines of Rs 500 each.

On January 2, 2008, an Irrigation Department sub-engineer was assaulted by Jandel and locals in Matasula village.

Congress terms J&K as 'milching cow' for BJP

UP CM suspends 13 officers, orders departmental inquiry over corruption
