Intel releases new Xeon scalable processors

Bengaluru, July 12(UNI) Technology giant Intel today released Intel Xeon Scalable processors that are uniquely architected for today’s evolving data center and network infrastructure, offering businesses the industry's highest core and system-level performance averaging 1.65X higher performance2 over the prior generation.

In growing workloads like AI, Intel Xeon Scalable processors deliver 2.2x performance over the prior generation.

Speaking to reporters Prakash Mallya, Managing Director -- Sales and Marketing Group, Intel India said here that the new line of processors were designed to support an expanding range of existing and emerging data center and network workloads including cloud computing, 5G-ready networks, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence.

'These servers will address the increasingly complex and varied needs of the data centre, enabling customers to deliver next-generation business and consumer experience through unparalleled performance, security and agility,' he said.

Mr Mallya said as India Inc, increases its investment in technology, the country's data centre and network infrastructure would undergo a massive transformation. Emerging use cases in the financial, ITeS, healthcare and academic sectors will necessitate agile networks that can interpret and implement decisions based on artificial intelligence, HPC and in the near future, 5G, he said.

The National Stock Exchange and NxtGen are early adopters of the brand new data center platform that offers the industry’s highest levels of performance.

Intel’s new portfolio of data centre processors will provide businesses with the richest suite of platform feature innovations that deliver significant performance increases across key workloads.

Intel also introduced Intel Select Solutions, a solutions brand aimed at simplifying and speeding the deployment of data center and network infrastructure. This is an expansion of the company’s deep investment in Intel Builders ecosystem collaborations and will deliver a choice of Intel verified configurations to the market enabling customers to speed return on investment in Intel Xeon Scalable processor based infrastructure for user prioritised workloads.
