Infrastructure being developed not just to facilitate coal transportation: Goa CM

Panaji, Oct 25 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday said that government was giving push to infrastructure development in the state not just to facilitate coal transportation but also to promote other businesses like tourism, export and import.
Speaking at foundation laying ceremony of Konkan Maritime Cluster, first project in the country for developing maritime industry related infrastructure, the Chief Minister said, "The infrastructure is not being created for the movement of coal alone. Stop these agitations. We have not started importing coal. Coal has been imported for so many years. We have not even increased the import of coal. We are carrying out this development, for development of industries and promotion of export and import."
He said the protests and agitations going on in the state for the last few months against infrastructure projects were hindrance in developing infrastructure in the state, specially maritime industry.
