Incessant Rains, heavy floods claim 19 lives in AP

Vijayawada, Oct 20 (UNI) Incessant rains and heavy floods have claimed 19 lives in Andhra Pradesh and Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to disburse Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the bereaved families.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with the District Collectors and Superintendents of police and reviewed the flood situation here on Tuesday.
He said that 19 persons have lost their lives in the incessant rains and heavy floods so far. Out of the 19 deceased, Rs.5 lakh compensation had been disbursed to the 14 bereaved families.

Chennai, Nov 25 (UNI) As the severe Cyclone Nivar moved closer
to the Tamil Nadu coast and intensify further into a very severe
cyclonic storm, the Chennai city police today closed all major roads,
in coastal areas including Marina beach front as a precautionary
