Incessant rainfall drenches Kashmir, snowfall at Gulmarg: MeT

Srinagar, Apr 16 (UNI) Incessant rain caused a flood-like situation in Kashmir, even though the Meteorological Centre Srinagar said there would be overall improvement in weather from Tuesday.
Incessant rainfall since Saturday drenched the Kashmir valley, bringing down the temperature, while some higher reaches, including the tourist resort of Gulmarg, received fresh snowfall during the past 24 hours.
Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir Valley witnessed the heavy downpour that caused flash floods at various places and inundated several nallahs, roads, and low-lying areas, disrupting normal activities in the in the prevailing wintry conditions.

Prayagraj, Feb 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Dharampal Singh on Saturday said that in order to give priority to cow protection, the Uttar Pradesh government has provided shelter to 12,43,623 destitute cows in 7,713 cow shelters and the amount given for their maintenance has been increased from Rs 30 per day per cow to Rs 50 per day.
