In the name of NRC, people being persecuted in Assam: Mamata

Kolkata, Nov 16 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee today alleged in the name of NRC, people are being persecuted in Assam.
She said, " In the name of NRC, Bengalis, Biharis, Nepalis are being evicted from Assam. They are living there for 50-60 years. They are citizens of India. The names of someone’s father is in the list, but mother’s name is missing. Someone’s son features in the list but daughter’s name is not there. The situation is so bad that 31 people have committed suicide. "
" People have been killed. Bobby Hakim is the observer for Assam. Few days ago a delegation comprising Derek O’Brien, Mamata Bala Thakur, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Mahua Moitra went to Assam to meet the persecuted families. Earlier, our delegation was not allowed to enter the state, " she added.
