Hyundai eyes sales of 6.72 lakh units in 2017

New Delhi, Apr 28(UNI) Leading automaker Hyundai is aiming for a sale of 6.72 lakh units across the country by 2017 at an estimated growing volumes of eight per cent, said Rakesh Srivastava, Director (Sales and Marketing) Hyundai Motor India.
"Hyundai Motor India sold a total of 6.62 lakh units that include exports too in 2016, of which five lakh units were sold in the domestic market only. For this year, the company has targeted to sell 5.3 lakh units sale in the domestic market. We will also train over 15,000 dealer manpower in the calendar year 2017," added Mr Srivastava.

Speaking about the product road map, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hyundai Motor India, YK Koo said, “In the next four years, Hyundai will develop eight new products in the Indian market equipped with new segment products and full model change, apart from regular product enhancements and facelifts with an investment plan of Rs 5,000 crore.”

Hyundai today inaugurated India's First Global and Training Centre(INQC) in Faridabad, the first integrated technical centre with body and paint segment with an investment of 30 crore. The company also plans to open two new centres at Guwahati and Ahmedabad by the end of the year with an investment of Rs 7-8 crore.

The centre is one of the five centres established worldwide. The INQC will have equipment equivalence with global standard research and development tools for examination of the vehicle and complete engine diagnosis. The centre will also study new cars from their pilot stage till its launch in the market.
Overall, the company has so far invested 3.2 billion dollars in India since 1998.
