Dharamshala, Sep 25 (UNI) Eighty-three tourists, who were stranded at Triund in the higher reaches of Dharamshala following a heavy rainfall in the area, were rescued by SDRF team on Sunday.
Rescue team was rushed to the spot after information was received from one of the trapped tourists.
A statement issued by the HP-State Emergency Operation Centre (Monsoon) late this evening said a message was received from a stranded tourist identified as Abhinandan Kalia that a group of eleven tourists, which included six female, all from Punjab were trapped at Triund located at an Latitude: 32°.2596". Longitude: 76.3565" and requested for their rescue.
SDRF DSP said that following this information, a SDRF team was rushed to Triund and rescued eleven tourists from Punjab six of them females. He said that there were 72 more tourists trapped there at Triund and they too were rescued by the SDRF team.
He said that there was no loss of life during the rescue operation. He said that the district authorities were informed about the incident.
