Himachal's GST collection grows by 7pc in June as compared to last year

Hamirpur, Jul 4 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh's Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in the month of June has increased by seven per cent in comparison to last year, a spokesperson of the Excise and Taxation Department said on Sunday.
He said that despite several relaxations provided in the filing of GST returns due to the prevailing pandemic situation, the GST collection in June 2021 stands at Rs 246 crores as compared to Rs 230 crores in June 2020.
The spokesperson said that it was expected that in the coming months the GST collection will further improve as a result of an increase in business activities.
The department was closely monitoring the taxpayers through various enforcement activities.
The effect of the deferred filing of GST returns will also be visible in the collections of the coming months, he said.
