Himachal continues to reel under cold wave conditions as state receives rain, snowfall; normal life hit

Shimla, Mar 14 (UNI) High reaches of the state were disrupted and road links to many places were cut off under the cold wave conditions as rainfall and snow continue to hit the region, with Kalpa, Keylong and tourist resort Dalhousie to receive fresh snowfall from Thursday, MeT dept said.
Thick fog engulfed various parts of this capital town on Thursday reducing the visibility drastically, as telephones and communications services have not been working for last one week in Jubbal & Kotkhai area in the district.
MeT recorded nearly half feet that is 15 cm snowfall at Keylong, district headquarter of Lahaul Spiti,
and Kalpa in Kinnaur, Kothi 7 cm, tourist resort Dalhousie 5 cm snow and 16 mm rain and Kufri 1 cm.
High reaches of Lahaul Spiit like Lady of Keylong, Seven sisterr's hills, 13050 feet Rohtang Pass
13600 feet Kunzum Pass and Goshal hill, Manimashes, Pangi and Bharmouar of Chamba district
Jalorijoot of Kullu, Dhauladhar ranges of Kangra, Kinnuer Kailash ranges of Kinnuar and, Kharapather,
Khadrala and Hatu peak of Shimla and Churdhar of Sirmaur got light to moderate spell of snowfall.
Chamba had 45 mm rain Saluni & Bharmaur 30 mm each,, Manali in Kullu 26 mm, Baldwara in Mandi
14 mm, Kothi in Lahaul Spiti 16 cm, Bhuntar in Kullu, Sundernagar in Mandi and Chatrari in Chamba 12 mm
each.
Ghumarwin in Bilaspur nine mm, Banjar in Kullu Seven mm, Jogindernagar six mm
Dharamshala in Kangra five mm, Bhuntar, Gaggal Airport in Kangra & Mandi-4 mm each, Sujanpur Tihra, Hamirpur, Baijnath in Kangra & Saharan in Shimla three mm each.
Minimum temperature of fell down by three to four degrees below normal as Keylong was coldest in the state with minus eight degrees and four degrees down the normal, Kalpa minus two degrees
Dalhousie minus 0.1 degrees, Kufri and Manali one degrees each.
