Haryana formulates new road safety policy

Chandigarh, Oct 21 (UNI) The new road safety policy aims at bringing down the rate of deaths and injured in road accidents up to 50 percent by 2025, has been formulated by the Haryana Government.
A Transport Department spokesman today said the present state government has, during last two years, achieved remarkable progress in different fields, especially in transport and road safety. The department also launched e-payment facility for tax payment of transport vehicles and state’s fourth driving training and research institute is being set up at village Kaluwas in Bhiwani district.
He said the new road safety policy, with 2015 as the base year, would be jointly implemented by Police, Public Works (Building and Roads), Education and Health departments for better road safety management.
