Great uncertainty, confusion on part of banks to use biometrics after SC order on Aadhaar case: Gandhi

Hyderabad, Jan 22 (UNI) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) former Deputy Governor R.Gandhi on Tuesday said that there is great uncertainty, confusion and reluctance on the part of banks and financial institutions to use biometrics as the basic for identifying individuals after the verdict of Supreme Court in Aadhaar case.

In his inaugural addressat the three-day Fifth International Conference on Identity, Security and Behavior Analysis (ISBA 2019), here, Mr Gandhi said several fintech companies have to redraft their business models because of this and their cost of operations have tremendously increased consequently, affecting their profitability and also threatening their continued existence.
