Srinagar, Feb 22 (UNI) National Conference (NC) Vice-President Omar Abdullah on Friday said that the government’s alleged move to block advertisements to a local daily newspaper was a classic case of shooting the messenger.
If true, Mr Abdullah said he is not sure what this move is meant to achieve other than to create a pliant, subservient media.
“In a classic case of shooting the messenger the state government is reported to have blocked Greater Kashmir newspaper group from any government advertisements,” Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of J&K, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
