Fresh snowfall, rain predicted in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Mar 9 (UNI) The Meteorological Department has forecast of fresh spell of snowfall and rain in Himachal Pradesh from Monday to Thursday.
Tourist resort Kufri got three cm fresh snowfall and Kalpa in Kinnaur had two cm . The capital town and Chamba recorded one mm rainfall in last 24 hrs.

The Met Office said that Maximum temperature remained below three to four degrees and Minimum two to three as the state is till under the grip of coldwave.
Keylong was coldest in the state with minimum temperature at minus six degrees and 2.6 degrees below normal followed by Kalpa at mninus 2.6 degrees and 2.4 degree below normal, tourist resort Manali in Kullu and Kufri in Shimla was minus one and minus 1.2 degrees and Dalhousie 2.9 degrees.
Night temperature of Shimla was at 4.2 degrees and 2.3 degree down the normal, Solan four degrees Dharmshala in Kangra and Chamba was 5.8 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi six degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 6.4 degrees Mandi 6.6b degrees , Kangra 7.2 degrees, Nahan in Sirmaur 7.9 degrees, Hamirpur 8.1 degrees, Bilaspur 8.3 degrees and Una 9.8 degrees respectively.
The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in next 24 hrs however it forcast more rain or snowfall from Mar 9 onward till Mar 14 .
Forecast of rain or snowfall at Many places in the mid hills and few places in the high reaches and foot hills have been made and warning of rain, thunderstorm accompanied with hail or gusty winds in the mid and foot hills for Mar 9 in the state.

Most tribal areas are under the thick layer of snowfall and many parts of Shimla, Kinnuar, Kangra, Lahaul Spiti and Chamba are still snowbound. Rescue operation for last 16 days to find out three missing Jawan of 7-J&K rifle is under way at Shipki- La near Nambgai Dogri in Kinnuar district on Indo China border.

Bodies of three jawans were evacuated from the avalanche which hit the army jawan on Feb 20 when they were repairing water supply.
State Government conducted the first sortie of Helicopter to snowbound Dodra Kawar ara of Shimla district after gap of many years and Peple of Dora and Kawar area in Rohru subdivision of Shimla district on Himachal Pradsesh Uttrakhand border are cut of from wrest of world due to closing down of Chanshal Pass situated at the height of 14000 feet from the sea level.
