Elderly person injured after fall from roof, pregnant woman rescued in Kargil

Kargil, Jan 22 (UNI) An elderly person was injured after he fell down from roof top of his house during snow clearance and a pregnant woman was rescued by police from cut off areas, a police spokesman said here on Tuesday afternoon.
He said Police Station Drass, second coldest place in the world after Siberia, received information telephonically that a pregnant woman is held as all the routes were blocked due to heavy snowfall and needs to be moved out immediately for medical treatment.
He said on receiving this information, a police team lead by Station House Officer (SHO) Tsewang Nurboo rushed to the spot along with an ambulance from Sub District Hospital (SDH), Drass and a JCB from BRO.
