Dozens of far-flung, remote areas near LoC remain cut off in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 4 (UNI) Dozens of far-flung and remote villages near the Line of Control (LoC) in the frontier district of Kupwara and Bandipora remained cut off from their respective district headquarters for the third day on Sunday due accumulation of several feet of snow and slippery road conditions.
Several feet of snow had accumulated at Sadhna and Razdan passes besides Z-Gali and Phirkiyan as fresh light to moderate snowfall was recorded during the past 24 hours, reports reaching here said.
Official sources said that the road between Kupwara to border town of Keran remained closed due to accumulation of snow as there was fresh snowfall on Saturday. “The road has become slippery,” they told UNI, adding that no traffic movement was allowed to avoid any accident.
