Kochi, Nov 17(UNI) Expressing concern over the ongoing Sabarimala row, noted Bangladeshi writer and women rights campaigner Taslima Nasreen has said that she did not understand why women activists were 'so eager to enter' the world famous hill shrine at Sabarimala.
"I do not understand why women activists are so eager to enter Sabarimala. Better they should enter the villages where women suffer from domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse, hate, where girls have no access to education, heath-care,and no freedom to take a job or get equal pay," Taslima said in a tweet on Friday.
Taslima's remarks came after activist and Maharashtra-based Bhumatha Brigade founder Trupti Desai' futile attempt to visit Sabarimala yesterday, which created high drama at the Kochi airport. Following protests by devotees and right wing groups, she could not get out from the airport and after 11 hours of uncertainty, she forced to go back Pune last night.
