Differences between Modi and Shah on NRC, claims Bhupesh

Raipur, Jan 17 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday claimed that there was a difference of opinion between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the issue of National Citizenship Register (NRC).
Addressing a felicitation organised here to felicitate the elected public representatives of Congress in urban local bodies, Mr Baghel said that while Home Minister Shah talked of implementing NRC in the entire country, Prime Minister Modi denied having such proposal. Given the statements of both Mr Modi and Mr Shah, both seem to have differences of opinion which led to agitation in the whole country, Baghel said.
Mr Modi caused much trouble to the country during five years of his previous tenure and now Mr Shah caused trouble to the people during the last seven months, compelling them to come to streets, Mr Baghel said. Citizenship is being discussed in the country in place of inflation and unemployment, he said. He also said that it was unfortunate that people in the country will have to run from pillar to post to prove their citizenship.
