Darcha-Shinku La road blocked by Avalanche: Official

Shimla, April 17(UNI) The Lahaul Spiti district administration issued an advisory Wednesday informing that the Darcha-Shinku La road has been blocked following an avalanche at Himachal Pradesh's Shinku La.
According to information received from Police Post Darcha, an avalanche incident occurred near Shinku La towards Zanskar on April 16. As a result, the Darcha to Shinku La road was blocked, and restoration work was underway.
Tourists and locals were advised not to take any kind of travel risk on Darcha- Shinku La route. "For your safety people should avoid traveling through the affected area until further notice," it said.
It was mainly dry on Wednesday, however, sunny weather triggers avalanche from the high reaches. An avalanche also hit near North Portal Rohtang Tunnel blocking the flow of water in Chandra Bhaga river on Tuesday.
