Dalits returning to Congress fold: UP Congress

Lucknow, Feb 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress today claimed that Dalits are returning to the party fold and have started realising the fake assurances given to them by the political outfits just for their vote bank politics.
"The Dalits have always been used by the political parties except for the Congress and now the community are fast turning back to party and the coming UP elections would see such happening," said UP Congress Schedule Caste department chairman Bhagwati Choudhury here.
Mr Choudhury, who led the second phase of the Bhim Jyoti Rath Yatra which was completed today after covering 14 districts of four divisions including two of the Bundelkhand region,told mediapersons here that the Dalits have started realising that Congress is the only party which had given them honour and respect.
