Covid dampens Vijayadashmi celebrations in Marathwada

Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Oct 25 (UNI) Vijayadashmi was celebrated on Sunday mostly in a simple manner as the people thoughtfully chose to miss the usual fanfare around the festival, owing to the COVID-19 concerns.
According to reports from the eight districts of the Marathwada region, Vijayadashmi which is also as Dusshera was observed by the devotees making purchases of marigold flowers, sweets and other items needed for performing pooja and other related rituals.
Keeping up with the annual trend, many also bought golden ornaments, vehicles and other luxury goods, giving a much-needed impetus to the business amid the pandemic.
