Corona lockdown: Jalandhar admin strives hard to stop exodus of migrant workers

Jalandhar Mar 31 (UNI) Apart from giving approval to resume the works of brick kilns here, the district administration urged the brick kiln owners to put efforts to stop the exodus of migrant labourers from work places, in the backdrop of ongoing nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
District Magistrate Varinder Kumar Sharma issued the order to start works in kilns on Tuesday, saying that there is an ongoing trend that the migrant labourers are going back to their states. Efforts are being made by the administration to stop it, he said.
Mr. Sharma has asked all the kiln owners to make proper arrangements for the living and food of the labourers.
