Chhina hits out at Capt Govt for slow progress on Kartarpur corridor

Amritsar, Jan 23 (UNI) Taking a leaf out of the assertions by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday at Attari-Wagah border that Kartarpur corridor will be completed within time frame, senior BJP leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina on Wednesday blamed Capt Amarinder Singh-led Punjab government for the delay.
In a statement here, he said the state government is paying a scant regard to the issues relating the development work including land acquisition, planning and execution of the corridor that will pave the way for the free flow of pilgrims across the Indian border to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.
Chhina said Modi government had announced the Corridor as part of the celebration of the revered Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th Parkash Purab in November. “It seems Capt government is not taking the matter seriously to facilitate the corridor that will allow Sikh pilgrims from India to visit the holy shrine”, said the BJP leader, adding that the Congress CM and Ministers were making tall claims but have done nothing on ground while the construction on Pakistan side is going at a gradual speed.
