Centre done commendable job of banning 59 Chinese apps : Vij

Chandigarh, Jun 30 (UNI) Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday said that the Central Government has done a commendable job of banning 59 Chinese Applications (apps) while making a digital strike on China to safeguard our nation and society.

This move of Union Government will lead to exemplary changes in the service and security of the country, he said.

Mr Vij said that the ban imposed on the Chinese Applications is similar to a surgical strike due to the ongoing border dispute between India and China. From the country's security point of view, it was necessary to ban these apps. The Center has taken a great step by banning 59 Chinese apps including Tik Tok, UC Browser, Cam Scanner. Apart from this, the process of banning apps like Share it, Mi Video Call, Vigo Video, Beauty Plus, UC News etc has also been taken.

He also said that this would strengthen India's safety, security, sovereignty and integrity. China has received a befitting reply by banning of these apps.

The Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken concrete steps to develop a self-reliant India. People should be motivated to be vocal for local. "Instead of buying foreign products, we all should emphasize to buy products made in India, which can further strengthen the economy of the country."

He said that with increasing demand for indigenous products, trading activities will also get a boost in the country. Due to the untiring efforts of Indian scientists today, India has maintained its own identity in the entire world. Unquestionably, the credibility of Indians abroad has also increased under the leadership of Prime Minister, he added.

Mr Vij said as China has got a befitting reply over banning of their applications by the Government of India, in the same way the people of the State should start purchasing local products. The quality of the products made in our country is much better than the products made in any other country, he added.
