C.O.T Nazeer murder attempt case: MLA Shamseer's car taken into custody

Kannur, Aug 3 (UNI) CPI(M) MLA A.N Shamseer's car was taken into custody by Thalassery police on Saturday over the attempt to murder case of C.O.T Nazeer, a CPI(M) rebel candidate contested from Vadkara Lok Sabha constituency in the last General election.
According to police, the Innova car, which was registered in the name of MLA Shamseer's brother A N Shahir, was taken into custody based on the statement given by the victim to the police.
The car was later produced before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case.
The name board citing "MLA" was fixed on the car when the conspiracy to attack Nazeer was hatched by the accused by sitting inside the car which was parked in front of Kinfra park at Thalassery, as per the statement of accused V P Santhosh alias Pottyan Santhosh of Ponnyam and N K Raghesh, CPI(M) Kathirur Puliyad Branch Secretary and former driver of A N Shamseer, MLA.
SIT had already arrested eleven CPI(M) workers, in connection with the case after examining the CCTV footage and other evidences and also took into custody the motorbike and weapons used in the crime.
It was on May 18, C.O.T Nazeer, who was also a former Thalassery Municipal Councilor, was attacked by a gang near Thalassery town after waylaid him.

Telangana Guv appeals IT, Corporate institutions employees to enroll as Red Cross members

Hyderabad, Jan 22 (UNI) Telangana Governor and Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) President Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Wednesday appealed to all IT and other corporate institutions to encourage their employees to enroll themselves as Red Cross members.

In a meeting held at Darbar hall in Rajbhavan with senior officials from IT companies in twin cities , here, Dr Tamilisai asked the IT professionals to download the Red Cross Society “App” which was released by President Ram Nath Kovind at Rajbhavan during his southern sojourn recently.
