BSF seizes 1.05 kg heroin from Punjab border

Jalandhar, Oct 22 (UNI) The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered three plastic bottles filled with contraband suspected to be heroin from near the BoP Satpal, Ex-136 Bn BSF in Ferozepur sector.
A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontiers HQ of the BSF here said that all the three packets were weighed 1.05 kg heroin. The contraband was seized late during search conducted this morning in the area of responsibility of BoP Satpal.
He said that late Monday night the vigilant BSF troops of the BoP Satpal, observed some suspicious sound and became alert. However, no movement could be observed due to darkness. Hence, to stop the misadventure of smugglers BSF troops opened fire following which suspected smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of darkness and fully grown paddy crops. Later, during search conducted this morning; three plastic bottles filled with contraband weighing approx 1.05 kg were recovered from the area near the BoP.
