Birth anniversary of Guru Nanak being celebrated in all institutions, Govt working to promote Punjabi: LG

Srinagar, Sep 19 (UNI) Announcing that birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji will be celebrated in all educational institutions as a part of “ Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, Lt Governor Manoj Sinah said Union Territory (UT) administration is also working for the promotion of Punjabi language in a planned manner.
An official spokesman said Sunday evening that a delegation of Sikh community of Kashmir under the banner of “United Kashmiri Sikhs Progressive Forum” led by its Chairman, Baldev Singh Raina met LG Sinha at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The delegation comprising of Religious leaders, Civil Society members, Educators, Professionals from the Sikh community apprised the Lt Governor about the concerning issues and demands of Sikhs living in the UT.
