Bill introduced to set up HP Cow Service Commission

Tapovan (Dharmshala), Dec 12 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh government on Wednesday introduced a Bill to set up Cow Service Commission in the state, to regulate all charitable bodies and trusts taking care of abandoned cows, make budgetary provisions and preserve indigenous cow breeds.
While Introducing the Himachal Pradesh Gauvansh Sarankshan and Samvardhan Bill, 2018 in the House, Minister for Animal Husbandry Virender Kanwar said the government would form the Himachal Pradesh Gauseva Aayog, for preservation, conservation and welfare of cows in the state and supervision and control of various institutions, established for the purpose.
Stressing on the need for a Gauseva Aayog, Mr Kanwar said some institutions like Gausadans, Gaushalas, Cow Sanctuaries, Gauvigyan Kendras and Community Animal Rearing Centre are engaged in the welfare of cows, but there is no regulatory body to control and regulate them.
