Raipur, Dec 17 (UNI) Leader of Chhattisgarh Congress Legislative Party Bhupesh Baghel will be sworn-in as Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh on Monday.
Mr Baghel will be the third Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh since its inception in the year 2000.
Governor Anandiben Patel will administer oath of office and secrecy to Baghel at swearing-in ceremony to be held in the capital Raipur today evening.
Baghel will take oath alone. Preparations for swearing-in ceremony to be held at Science College Ground were underway for the last several days.
After his selection as leader of Congress Legislative Party yesterday, Baghel visited Science College ground to inspect preparations. But due to rains occurring with change in weather condition several portions at the venue of the function have been water-logged.
Meanwhile, keeping in mind continuous cloudy weather which occasional rainfalls, the officials have started making alternative arrangements at Auditorium and Indoor Stadium near the venue on consultation with Baghel, for Swearing-in ceremony.
Congress which returned to power in the state after a period of 15 years is excited over formation of new government. About 50,000 people are expected to attend the Swearing-in ceremony accordingly arrangements were being made at the venue. But sudden change in weather has created trouble.
AICC President Rahul Gandhi, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, leader of Congress parliamentary party in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge along with several other leaders will attend the Swearing-in ceremony. Keeping this in mind elaborate security arrangements have been made at the venue.
