Bengal Guv and CM appeal to the people to save green by engaging sapling plantation

Kolkata, Jun 5 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today urged the people to engage themselves in plantation and save the green to mark the World
Environment Day.
"I appeal all to engage in plantations," said Mr Dhankar.
"There has been huge damage to the environment and ecology by Amphan," the Governor elaborated while he engaged himself in plantation at different places.
"Would be associated with plantations at Barrackpore, Science City, Victoria Memorial as well as Raj Bhawan," Mr Dhankar said.
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee urged the people to engage in plantation as cyclones left trails of destruction in both life and property.
" Best wishes to all on World Environment Day. Save green, save life. After the cyclone, incalculable ecological damage has occurred in Kolkata & south Bengal. Tens of thousands of trees have been uprooted. We must all work together to restore the greenery in our state," Ms Banerjee said.
BJP's state president and MP Dilip Ghosh was seen in action planting saplings to mark the day.
