6 killed, 2 injured in jeep-truck collision in Hingoli

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Sep 21 (UNI) At least six passengers were
killed and two others were injured in collision between a passenger
jeep and a truck on Hingoli-Washim road near Kalgaon village in
Hingoli district, about 250 Km from here, on Friday.
The accident occurred in the wee hours of today at about 0200 hours
when a jeep carrying passengers from Washim to Hingoli collided with
an oncoming truck, killing six occupants on the spot and left two
others injured, police said.
On getting the news of accident, a police team rushed to the spot
and assisted in moving two injured persons to the government
hospital at Nanded for treatment.
The deceased were identified as Narsingh Hazare (35), Ganesh Hazare
(34), Satish Murkute (26), Anil Chavan (28), Raju Dhamne (18) and
Swapnil Egatkar (25), mostly hailing from Washim district of
Vidharbha region, report said.
Their bodies were sent for autopsy at hospital.
Further investigation was on, sources added.
