'Solar power panel schemes helping farmers to cut farming costs'

Hamirpur (HP), Oct 18(UNI) Solar power panel schemes are helping the farmers in the districts of Hamirpur, Una and Bilaspur to cut down their farming costs and to earn more profits from the crops, an official said here on Sunday.
With these panels, irrigation schemes are run to provide water to the fields on low cost.
Such schemes have been launched for the benefits of the farmers by JICA, a Japanese based agency with help of Himachal Pradesh Crop Diversification Incentive Project and thirty-three of minor irrigation projects have been installed in these districts to help the farmers.
